Done in Alcohol inks, Water's Edge is painted from a photograph I took on a vacation. Who can resist Venice with its wonderful canals meandering throughout the city? I love the warm Italian colors and the decay the salt water imposes on the buildings. Almost everywhere you look you find a gondola waiting to give you a ride as if it's no big deal. People take gondola rides all the time. But to me, this magic city was a big deal with its water taxis and buses speeding past the ancient buildings decorated with bright geraniums.
