One of Rockton's most valuable assets, the Rock river attracts a large variety of birds and animals each year. Some call the river home, some are just stopping in as they continue on their migration route. It is said that the American White Pelican first came to the Rock River in 2005 in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Since then they have returned to the river each year.

Join us on the Pelican page for updates from the locals, fun projects, and upcoming events. Unfortunately, we will not be able to hold our pelican event at the end of may but we hope to be able to celebrate these magnificent creatures in the near future. Stay tuned...

Were Trying Something New

We here at JR Finally art love to boast about our talented artist friends. We've decided to give them some extra Social Distancing TLC during this time because...lets face it, who doesn't need a little extra love right now.

This week we're featuring one of our dear friends Laura Budzien who is a Perfusionist for two of our local hospitals. When she's not busy saving lives, Laura uses her downtime to create incredible sterling silver jewelry. Her work is incredible. Make sure you check out our facebook page so you can see Lauras hard work.

Thank you for all of your hard work Laura.
You are a true gem and we love you!

The Box
Watercolors by Jean Apgar

Reception March 7, 2020.   1-3 PM

In describing the theme of the paintings, Ms. Apgar said:
“The Box:  It was always there, coming home with my father during my childhood.  It fulfilled its function over the years, containing and carrying objects, food and beverages. Eventually, it went to college with us upon our marriage and stayed with us through each move and change, continuing with its primary function – containing objects. One day, as it held two stuffed animals, light entered into the box that enhanced and enlivened both box and contents – almost demanding to be painted. So, I painted it and continued to find the ordinary objects of life to put in the box. Family heirlooms, toys, pieces of everyday life – they were contained and reinterpreted. What would you put in the box?”
Jean's Opening was well attended. It was wonderful visiting with everyone. Paintings were sold. The show will be extended until further notice to allow others the chance to see it.
