While enjoying a recent Orchid Show at Nicholas Conservatory I became fascinated by the large koi pond. At first I was interested in the variety of fish and started photographing them. Soon I was drawn into the algae covered rocks and the reflections on the water. I knew instantly I had to paint it. I love the contrast between the colorful fish, the green pebbles, and the reflections dancing on the water.
