When Mark and I moved into our current house Mary, my husband’s sister, gave us peony plants. They took a while to catch on but now they’re gorgeous. I love cutting them and bringing them into the house as one of the first cut flowers of the season. Peonies are very generous flowers, requiring little care but giving so much pleasure. My sister in law is a lot like that. Being the first born girl in her family she is always there taking care of everyone and demanding very little in return.
I started this peony painting without noticing the little spider on the pedal. It thrilled me to add it. Although I’m not a big spider fan I like to think of all the little critters whom live among the flowers.
