Jill Rae Martin-Golden has been creating art in some form for most of her life. Jill is a graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, while also taking a heavy course load in the fine arts. Following her graduation, Jill continued taking art classes at various local colleges to explore and develop many new and exciting art forms. The company of Jill Rae Finally Art was established in 2012 after she made the decision to leave her job of 15 years to pursue her passion of art on a full time basis. Finally, she is fulfilling her life’s dream of creating fine art on a daily basis.
Jill’s website JillRaeFinallyArt.com is where she is constantly displaying her new ideas and finished artwork. Her website is also where she accepts commissions for portraits and ink drawings. She enjoys a variety of mediums including watercolor, oils, ink drawings, and pastels. In the past year she has become very excited to be working with the vivid and bold colors of alcohol inks. Jill feels that a variety of art forms keep her works fresh as she continually finds new challenges and goals for her extensive talents. Most of her inspiration comes from her travels, her garden, and the people around her, all of which are reoccurring themes in her work. In July of 2017, Jill opened JR Finally Art Studio & Gallery in downtown Rockton, 201 W Main Street. The building itself, is of historic significance as it is the oldest commercial building in Rockton. Her husband, Mark, is slowly rehabbing the 170 year old building and the building that is right next to it. The gallery displays not only her own work but that of many local artists. It includes, paintings, pottery, wood-turning, jewelry and more. As the gallery expands and classrooms are added, Jill paints continues to there Tuesdays through Saturdays. You will find a comfy chair right next to her drawing table just waiting for you come and chat for awhile. Jill lives with her architect husband Mark in Roscoe, Illinois. They have three children, one dog, four grand cats and a new grandson. Follow her insights, thoughts, and ideas on her blog at http://JillRaeFinallyArt.blogspot.com |
