I use stoneware clay to hand build vessels which are textured and embellished with sculpted clay botanical elements. What starts as a lump of clay is intuitively transformed by my hands and tools through manipulation, sculpting, and texturing; and finally by layering multiple glazes to mimic the varied hues of nature. Ultimately the clay becomes a composition capturing a moment in time inspired by nature’s beauty.
